An exciting opportunity has arisen working at Yeovil District Hospital as part of our in house maintenance team carrying out statutory and mandatory maintenance to the equipment and systems installed at the Hospital and associated buildings
Main duties of the job
You will be part of the in house maintenance team carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance ensuring a safe and compliant environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Mechanical Crafts person will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skills and should possess levels of flexibility and competence to allow them to perform the following:
Perform work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
Responsible for fault finding and repair maintenance on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment.
Hot and cold water systems, Mechanical installations, emergency generators, heating and ventilation, Building
Building management systems, pumps, compressors, motors and their controls
To be able to do basic electrics when required

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship or NVQ L3, together with the required minimum qualifications of a Level 3 in mechanical engineering
- Or an alternative recognised equivalent qualification
Experience
Desirable criteria
- To have worked alongside other trades
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria
- Recognized Mechanical Apprenticeship or ONC/HNC in building services or mechanical discipline
Desirable criteria
- Working knowledge of Legionella ACOP L8
- To have a sound knowledge and understanding of other building trades
- To be able to do basic electrical work
